Sharing the Simcha (Joy)
In the heart of Safed and the surrounding Galilee, hundreds of scholars (Avreichim) dedicate their lives to the study of the Holy Torah with immense devotion and often under great financial strain. They are the guardians of our heritage. However, at the most joyous moments—the birth of a child, a Bar Mitzvah, or a wedding—their happiness is often clouded by a heavy worry: "How will we cover the expenses?"
In 2024, with the blessing and encouragement of leading Rabbis, Rabbi Moshe Tuvia Bernstein established the "Tomchin" project.
A Safety Net for Moments of Celebration
"Tomchin" was created to ensure that no Torah scholar has to choose between their studies and celebrating a family milestone with dignity. We provide tailored financial grants to outstanding Kollel scholars for significant family events:
Birth Grants: Assistance with essential baby gear and the mother’s recovery needs.
Bar Mitzvah Grants: Helping with the costs of the celebration and Tefillin.
Wedding Grants: Significant support for parents marrying off their children.
Your Partnership is Their Peace of Mind
When you donate to "Tomchin," you are doing more than just giving charity—you are becoming a true partner in their spiritual journey. You allow a scholar to return to the Beit Midrash with a clear head, knowing that the community values their dedication and stands by them in their most joyous moments.
